RND Artists says welcome to a brand new group of digital artists this semester! Displayed below are the most recent pieces of art created by the new Grade 11 Media Arts classes. The students created themed photo sets, each quadrant having it’s own colour scheme. Take a look!
Grade 9 Group Of Seven Paintings
The Grade 9 Visual Art classes captured the beauty of nature in this painting study. These paintings were done in the style of the Group of Seven. Each student chose a painting done by one of the seven artists and worked on recreated the colours and brushwork of the selected painting. Below are some examples of the students’ talented interpretations.

Melissa Reid digitally illustrated characters from Alice in Wonderland and designed her own deck of cards.
Gina Gavel digitally painted a series of GIF animations.
Holly Hamilton planned and designed an original photo editing app called VintIt.
Marie Martin designed these quote illustrations and transferred them on to handmade pillows.
Hannah Pokotylo researched the history of Vogue magazine and the portrayal of women over the years. She recreated a series of VOGUE covers dating from 1940-present, using her own Photos of RND students and original headlines. Click on one of the thumbnail images below to view the gallery.

Gr. 9 Aboriginal Art
Aboriginal Art is the theme of the Gr. 9 Visual Art course this year. Recently, the Gr. 9’s were lucky enough to have a visit from two Aboriginal elders Tammy and Bernard. The students participated in a drumming circle and learned about the spiritual traditions of Aboriginal culture.
